Hemp Block

The Blocks,

Hemp blocks for exterior masonry are made from a mixture of dust-free shives, slaked lime and, hydraulic lime). The drying and first carbonation of these products takes place naturally over a period of 4 to 5 weeks at our premises. The low density of these products is proof of a strong insulating power and of a great ease of maintenance on site.

Timber & Block construction

EasyEcobuild

The EasyEcobuild block construction system is a process mixing traditional-masonry and woodframing techniques. Constructing a building using this process is quick, clean, and requires only minimum tools.
Since each building is different, our design office provides complete tracking service, from tracking of the architectural dossier to completion of construction.

Framing Members

The timber framing is supplied ready-to-use. Each member is covered by a specific identifying mark and has the necessary connectors. The species used are generally northern pine, Norway spruce, or else Douglas fir.

Interior Coatings,

To preserve the heat-moisture content and sound characteristics of our products, we strongly recommend the application of a hemp-and-lime-based coating. If this is not possible, the use of manually or mechanically applied ready-to-use natural-lime coatings is advised. The use of gypsum board or the application of a traditional plaster coating is possible, however sound qualities are diminished. Wall tiles can be glued directly over EasyEcobuild blocks using lime and sand mortar.

Build Differently

To respond to 21st-century environmental, economic, and social constraints:
  • Climate demands (fighting CO2 releases),
  • saving of fossil-fuel resources,
  • use of renewable raw materials,
  • conservation of water resources,
  • respect for biodiversity.
  • reduction in costs of use,
  • creation of new jobs,
  • management of waste
  • healthy habitat

Did You Know?

Hemp production lowers greenhouse-gas emissions (hemp growing is a large consumer of carbon dioxide).

Raw materials coming from hemp growing store carbon and take part in fighting the greenhouse effect.
  • Reduction in the release of CO2
  • Preservation of fossil energy resource
  • Use of renewable raw materials
  • Preservation of water resources
  • Reduced operating costs
  • Zero-waste management site
